Some business itineraries involve more than one city.

A team may need to visit a production facility in the morning, meet investors in another country during the afternoon and return to headquarters that evening. With scheduled airlines, such a plan may be impossible or may require several days.

An itinerary across three cities

Multi-stop travel is one of the areas in which private aviation provides its greatest value.

A team leaving Istanbul early in the morning could, for example, fly first to Sofia, continue to Bucharest after a meeting and return to Istanbul at the end of the day — similar in spirit to a same-day round trip to London we coordinated for a client.

Whether such an itinerary is feasible depends on the weather, airport opening hours, slots, crew duty limits and aircraft range. With correct planning, however, three separate flight sectors may be completed in one day.

What planning a multi-city day involves

Planning a multi-city journey involves more than selecting departure times. The expected end of each meeting, ground transfers, passport procedures and possible delays must all be considered together.

The broker’s role is therefore not limited to finding an aircraft. The range, cabin capacity and operating conditions at each airport must also be evaluated.

Having the aircraft and crew remain with the passengers can provide valuable flexibility. A meeting that runs 30 minutes late does not automatically result in a missed airline flight. Nevertheless, any revised departure must remain compatible with airport slots and crew limitations.

The cabin as a mobile workspace

On a multi-city itinerary, the cabin also becomes a mobile workspace. The team can review documents for the next meeting, discuss the previous conversation and record decisions while travelling.

The time between cities is no longer simply an unproductive transfer.

Continuity, not just speed

The value private aviation provides in this context is not speed alone. It is continuity.

A journey that would require three days using scheduled services may, under the right conditions, be reduced to one or two. Hotel nights can be avoided, executives can return to the office sooner and face-to-face meetings in different countries do not need to be postponed.

Not every itinerary can or should be compressed into a single day. Airport restrictions, customs procedures and safe crew duty limits must always be respected.

With appropriate route planning, however, private aviation does more than make business travel more comfortable.

It allows organisations to reach more locations in less time.
